Good afternoon, friends,
Today we send love and congratulations to everyone who has finished a semester, a degree, a difficult academic year, and especially to our friends in the vfc who are graduating and starting new phases of their lives. We are so proud of you.
Second, we want to share a few updates on two projects: Postcard of Rage and Renewal, our response to the two year anniversary of the pandemic, and Finding Your Purpose, a new project from, well, me.
Wishing everyone rest this summer.

Finding Your Purpose
Please join the VFC and High Theory for the launch of a new project, “Finding Your Purpose: a Higher Calling workbook for justice-oriented scholars in an unjust world.” Friday, June 17 at 3pm est.
This virtual event features Hannah Alpert-Abrams on Purpose, Matt Cohen on Lineage, Carter Hogan on Community, Quinn Dombrowski on Pleasure, and Sonya Donaldson on Values.
Higher Calling is a project for everyone who decided to become a scholar because they believed in the mission of higher education. “Finding Your Purpose” is a workbook to help all of us navigate the contradictions between the work we are driven to do and the conditions we face in our working lives.
“Finding Your Purpose” offers guided questions, exercises, and rituals to help you orient yourself in relation to your work; trace your lineage; identify your community; embrace sources of pleasure; articulate your values; and find your purpose.
The Finding Your Purpose workbook will be made available for free as an eBook and downloadable pdf on June 17, 2022. A small number of copies will also be printed on a risograph gr3770 by Shalperta Press.
Postcards of Rage and Renewal updates
After a two-month delay, we have finished printing the postcards for Postcards of Rage and Renewal. They are the first project we attempted on our Risograph GR3770 and we had some technical difficulties, to say the least. Live and learn.
Postcards of Rage and Renewal is a collective response to the two-year anniversary of the coronavirus lockdown. It is a collaboration between the VFC and the Inkcap Collective. Our goal: to collectively channel and process our outrage towards the inadequacy of the pandemic response and to build our hope for the future.
I don’t know about you all, but I’m still looking for a way through my anger and towards renewal. I hope these help.
